The Company’s management has extensive northern experience having worked for various companies in the Territories for over 25 years. The company’s board of directors is characterised by its scope of industry experience specifically relating to exploration, finance, geology, and engineering.
John Robins – P.Geo., Chairman and Director
Mr. Robins is a professional geologist based in Vancouver, BC, with over 25 years of experience as an independent exploration geologist and entrepreneur. A 1984 graduate of the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Geology, Mr. Robins initially worked as a self-employed prospector and geologist in BC and Northern Canada. In 1988, he founded Hunter Exploration, one of Canada's most successful private exploration companies. Mr. Robins has also been active in starting several successful public exploration and development companies culminating in 2005 with his co-founding of the Discovery Group of Companies and most recently the Aurora Mineral Resource Group. In addition to his role with the Aurora Mineral Resource Group, Mr. Robins also sits on the Boards of several successful publically traded exploration companies.
His experience in everything from grass roots exploration to production is complemented by his success in the capital markets and financing activities. In 2008, Mr. Robins was recognized for his achievements in mining exploration by the Association for Mineral Exploration British Columbia with the H.H. "Spud" Huestis Award. This is recognized as the highest award given for mineral exploration and is awarded to those who have made "a significant contribution to enhance the mineral resources of British Columbia and/or the Yukon Territory, through the original application of prospecting techniques or other geoscience technology".
Stephen Swatton – President, CEO and Director
Mr. Swatton has been in the mining and exploration business for 30 years and has held positions such as Institutional Mining Analyst for Yorkton Securities, CEO of several successful junior companies including Brazil Resources Inc. and Fortress Minerals Ltd., and was Global Head of Business Development for the BHP Billiton Exploration Group (2005–2008). In recent years Mr. Swatton has developed varied business interests in third world jurisdictions while maintaining a keen interest in the Canadian Resource sector through investment and opportunity recognition.
Frederic Leigh Jr. – Director
Mr. Leigh is the principal of a private British Columbia company providing fundraising, investor relations and advisory services. He has over 10 years of experience with companies in the mining and technology sectors worldwide, acting in an investor relations and advisory role for a number of publicly listed companies.
Gary Freeman – Director
Mr. Freeman is an entrepreneur and financier who has been instrumental in financing, marketing and shareholder relations&rsquot; capacities with several junior exploration companies. He has over 30 years of experience in the industry, including a number of years in the brokerage industry. He was President and CEO of Pediment Gold Corp. until its merger with Argonaut Gold Inc. in January 2011. He is currently President and CEO of Ethos Gold Corp.
Craig Roberts – Director
Mr. Roberts is a mining engineer with over 30 years of operations, consulting, and investment banking experience. This includes work on feasibility studies for numerous mining projects worldwide, investment banking/due diligence roles in over 200 institutional mining equity financings, and significant experience advising management and boards on both friendly and hostile transactions.
Vivien Chuang – Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Chuang is a Chartered Accountant (British Columbia, Canada) with more than ten years of experience in the resource and mining sector. She articled with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University. Most recently, Ms. Chuang served as the Chief Financial Officer of Northern Empire Resources Corp., Precipitate Gold Corp., Azincourt Uranium Inc., and Remo Resources Inc.
Dayna Leigh – Corporate Secretary
Dayna Leigh is a paralegal with 9 years of experience as a Corporate Secretary for junior exploration companies. Ms. Leigh has been Corporate Secretary of Ethos Gold Corp. since June 2010 and Sonoro Metals Corp. since May 2008. Formerly she was Corporate Secretary for Pediment Gold Corp. from April 2007 until January 2011, when Pediment was taken over by Argonaut Gold Inc.
